ONCE A STRAWBERRY, ALWAYS A STRAWBERRY.

Say hello to sweet, tiny Floss who is in foster (Greater London, Essex)

BLUE CREAM BSH GIRL aged 13. Floss was originally adopted from Strawberry 3 years ago and was adored by her mum. Circumstances changed and it was thought best to find her new home for this little one (please do not judge) as it was in little Floss’ best interests. It was a hard decision but the best one for a loved cat. Floss is such a tiny little girl and is the size and look of a kitten, just look at her dainty feet. She has been well looked after and was taken to the vets for a check up and full blood test and on initial examination, she is in good health ie heart and chest + glucose levels.

She is a senior girl (13 years young). Test results including thyroid and kidney function all ok. But as she is 13 and lived on her own for the last 3 years is most likely too long in the tooth to share her home with other pets. Her mum said she is an independent little girl who is not keen on being picked up and definitely not a lap cat although but is good with being handled. Her mum also mentioned she does not like fast moving humans so a quiet home would best suit her with no young children.

However, she loves to be in company and comes up to you for a fuss on her terms and a loves a belly rub too. She is an indoor cat but loves to sit on a patio when sunny, So she needs a secured garden/patio/balcony. Floss happily eats dry food and we think it is best she now put on senior cat food now but likes the occasional wet food (in gravy) but can be fussy with this. She is also well litter trained.

Adoption fee is minimum £75 with all vet work deemed to be needed done (fee does not cover work already done) . Strawberry do not judge, if you are unable to look after your Strawberry cat anymore or need help and advice, please contact Strawberry either by phone or email. As we are a small independent rescue, we cannot always contact you immediately due to other commitments and family, health etc. We are all volunteers.

Before applying for a Strawberry cat please read the following.

1. Unless otherwise stated, our cats are strictly indoor only. This means that windows/doors cannot be left open in any room to which the cat has access. A cat cannot be trained to be indoor only – it must be supervised. All members of the house must be in agreement, and understand about keeping doors and windows closed. We are happy to re-home to a flat but, likewise, this means windows closed and no balcony access, unless the balcony is totally cat-proofed (netting all the way), same is true for roof terraces, so that they cannot drop to their death.

2. Unless otherwise stated, we do not re-home to children under 6 years old. If there is nothing stated to contrary, assume the cat cannot go to a child under six. For other cats, please also bear in mind that some cats may also be found to be unsuitable, even for children over 6. WE DO NOT HOME WITH PEOPLE PLANNING CHILDREN, AS SO MANY CATS ARE GIVEN UP JUST BECAUSE CHILDREN ARRIVE OR CATS DEVELOP BEHAVIOURAL ISSUES AFTER BABIES ARRIVING

3. It is a requirement of our adoption policy that lifetime insurance is obtained and maintained for every cat adopted. We provide 5 weeks free insurance with every adoption, but the original policy may not suit you and as we are not financial advisors you should seek out the best and appropriate insurance to suit your own needs.

4. Most cats are in Greater London, Essex or Worcestershire (an hour from Birmingham), with some fostered further afield like Durham at times. See each listing for details – if not detailed it will be Greater London, London or Worcs. Cats cannot be adopted by public transport – you must be able to collect by car or get a taxi home from fosterers home (many get a lift or get a taxi home with cat and things). If you are happy with the above criteria and want to enquire further or reserve a cat, please email.
